Sport Psychology uses our understanding of human behaviour to assist people in reaching their full potential.
It doesn’t matter what level of skill or capacity you have; the sport psychologist’s job is to assist you in
improving your performance
It often includes learning skills for coping with competition pressure and the emotional roller coaster that
goes with it. In addition, you can improve your understanding of how your mind and body work together at your
most important moment, to perform your very best.
And it’s not just for sport. Musicians, conductors, public speakers, and even surgeons are examples of different
occupations that must, at times, perform under immense pressure and can use the skills of a sport psychologist.
Working individually with a sport psychologist allows you to identify your personal success patterns,
understand the nuances of behaviours that might impede your performance, and assist you in building a
support team around you that will help you get the best out of yourself.
Wendy is available for individual consultations at her Noosaville practice and via telehealth.
When working with Teams, a sport psychologist will consult with different members and roles within the team to
understand the teams functioning. The sport psychologist observes the team in action to see how players, coaches
and support staff combine around training, competition, successes and failures. Your sport psychologist will give
feedback and suggest changes to problem solve or improve performance.
Wendy is available to work with teams and coaches to develop and implement an effective sport psychology program.
